Z Holdings Hosts "Expert Panel on AI Ethics"

-Discussions made from a wide range of perspectives on the role to be played as an AI tech company

Z Holdings Corporation (hereinafter "ZHD") has established the Expert Panel on AI Ethics (hereinafter "Expert Panel") to clarify the basic policies necessary for users to use our services without anxiety when AI technology is used in the digital society, and to formulate effective voluntary rules. The first meeting was held on June 22, 2021.

In the future, we plan to hold the Expert Panel about three times a year to discuss the use of AI, compile a response policy, and announce it as the ZHD Group's Basic Policy on AI Ethics (tentative name).

In recent years, with the rapid development of AI technology and the increase in the amount of data that makes it possible, the use of AI has been advancing in various industries both in Japan and overseas, and is expected to solve labor shortages, improve convenience in society, and solve social issues. The ZHD Group will implement AI in all of its services to update users' daily lives, corporate activities, and the society itself, and aspires to become a "World-Leading AI Tech Company from Japan/Asia."

On the other hand, in the use of AI, guidelines are being developed and laws and regulations are being considered both in Japan and overseas to resolve ethical issues such as the possibility that AI may violate human rights by unintentionally including discriminatory evaluation and selection.

In light of this social background, ZHD has decided to hold this Expert Panel, consisting of experts with outstanding knowledge, to consider how AI should be used, the roles that business entities should play, the matters that should be explained to users, the state of governance to prevent disadvantages that may be caused by the use of AI, and the policy for dealing with disadvantages in the event that they occur, in order to ensure that users can use our services with a higher sense of security.
